The green organizations in Bulgaria are sabotaging European projects for millions, said the Bulgarian member of the European Parliament Andrey Slabakov in a speech in front of the European Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, writes Trud. “I don’t think there should be some kind of special legislation for the environmental activists. In my opinion all countries in the European Union have legislations protecting all citizens. I do not understand why the conservationists need additional protection. Those who cry hysterically for protection are not protecting the nature. In Bulgaria they are called “toxic green”. These are NGOs sabotaging EU projects for billions. They practice eco-racketeering and misuse European funding,” said Slabakov. “Because of them ‘ecology’ is now a dirty word. I am mystified by the fact that the green parties support such strange organizations that only harm their cause. Thanks to such NGOs the Greens scored exactly zero percent at the last elections in Bulgaria. The Green colleagues must cleanse their ranks of the fake defenders of nature, because these compromised NGOs need to be brought to trial, rather than protected,” he added. Blitz.bg
