A petition has been submitted at the European Parliament, aiming to stop the construction in Kresna Gorge, stated Angel Dzhambazki, member of the EP, in the show Plus-Minus on Nova Television.

“A group of extortionists with Bulgarian citizenship, masked as “green” organizations that are in fact green terrorists, are trying to stop the construction of the Struma Motorway in the gorge because they have a different project in mind,” informed Dzhambazki. “They work for foreign interests. They are trying to bring about a different project connected to digging a tunnel, where their grant interests lie. We are witnessing green extortion,” added Dzhambazki. “The petition will be voted next week. There will be Bulgarian votes in its support and I am not surprised. Next week we will know the names of the Members of the European Parliament in support of the petition. They will vote against the Bulgarian interest. If this petition is not closed, it will be used against us,” predicted Dzhambazki. “There are two options: we either construct the highway the way it can and should be constructed, in and above the gorge, or we do not construct it at all. Decide for yourself whether Sofia and Thessaloniki should be connected. Should there be a connection between Sofia and Vidin, Thessaloniki and Lom? Because this is the fastest route for the Chinese cargo: from Thessaloniki to Lom, to Vidin and then, along the river, to all European countries. The highway will improve our infrastructure, create jobs, save lives in the gorge,” added the Bulgarian M.P. “If the European funding of this important project is cancelled, we will need to give the money back and pay the remaining amount. Once again, we are witnessing how Bulgarian residents work against the Bulgarian interest.” Dzhambazki qualified the petitioners as green extortionists and racketeers. “They hinder the development of Bansko and Vitosha. These people enforce ecological terror. This is the new Bolshevism.” [caption id="attachment_446366" align="aligncenter" width="476"]Angel Dzhambazki: Green organizations have submitted a petition to stop the construction of the Struma Motorway through the Kresna Gorge Picture: According to the newspaper Trud the petition organized by the coalition For Nature in Bulgaria was submitted to the Petition Committee at the European Parliament by the Bulgarian representative Radan Kanev.[/caption] Ekonovini.bg
